City of Kenai employee Dave Hernandez rolls up a Kenai Central High School flag that had been mounted on a light post along the Kenai Spur Highway on Monday afternoon. The flags, featuring the phrase "Go Kards!" and a Kardinals logo, have been displayed as part of an effort to promote activities at the school. Up next, Hernandez said, is hanging Kenai's Christmas decorations. That project starts today. According to Hernandez and Dale Baktuit, who also was helping to take down the Kenai flags, putting up the city's Christmas lights takes about 2 1/2 days -- providing the weather cooperates and the lights don't require too much maintenance. 110309 NEWS 2 Peninsula Clarion City of Kenai employee Dave Hernandez rolls up a Kenai Central High School flag that had been mounted on a light post along the Kenai Spur Highway on Monday afternoon.
